WHAT’S ON – FEBRUARY 2026
Imbolc (February 1)
The days are now noticeably longer and we have reached the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. This quiet seasonal shift was once marked by ancient celebrations, explored in this extract from Witch’s Forest by Sandra Lawrence.
Time to Talk Day (February 5)
Launched in 2014 to help end mental health stigma and discrimination, this annual campaign encourages open conversations about mental health. The Mind website offers resources and tips on how to approach these discussions.

World Pulses Day (February 10)
This annual event celebrates the power of nutrient-dense pulses, which have a low water footprint and can tolerate drought better than many other food crops. Their nitrogen-fixing properties also improve soil fertility by reducing dependence on synthetic fertilisers. In short, pulses are delicious allies in achieving food security and reducing malnutrition.

Random Acts of Kindness Week (15–21 February)
This annual initiative aims to inspire kindness, generosity and connection, encouraging schools, communities and workplaces to make kindness the norm.
Random Acts of Kindness Day (17 February)
Falling within Kindness Week, this day is a chance to turn an ordinary day into something special with small, thoughtful gestures – like a sincere compliment or offering a seat on the bus. For inspiration, visit the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation website.
